Plant builder CEMTEC (Cement and Mining Technology GmbH, of Enns in Upper Austria) is known worldwide for its first-class plants for processing bulk materials, rocks, earths and ores. Among other things, CEMTEC designs and builds ball mills for extracting gold, in which gold ore from mines is crushed for further processing.

Such plant is huge, making it difficult to exhibit at trade fairs and events. Instead, exhibitors have long used visuals, animations and films to present it, but this makes it difficult to really stand out from the competition.

So CEMTEC decided to have two presentation systems built as scale display models. After discussions with several suppliers, Promodell from Pyhra in St. Pölten was commissioned to build the models.

The two 1:33 scale models were based on the originals, down to the last detail, using original as-built documents. This included around 2,800 CNC-machined replica screws inserted individually in mill tubes. Miniature geared motors installed in the foundations drive the mills electrically as in the original, guaranteeing astonished looks from visitors to the fair.

"Having had the models constructed and commissioned at our company, we realised, once again, we had chosen the right business partner. Promodell implemented our ideas perfectly, with sound modelling and marketing know-how, and an eye for detail."
CEO Franz Plochberger of CEMTEC

As a full-service supplier, Promodell also supplied tailor-made cabinets and customised carrying boxes tailored to CEMTEC’s corporate design: so the models are staged perfectly at the company's headquarters and trade fairs, and are well protected against being damaged in transit.
